Andre and Patti had some extra tickets to the game and boy were they great seats. Let me say this, the new stadium is incredible. The concrete is so fresh that there’s barely any chewing gum stains. The food was great, although expensive. $7 popcorn?! Anyway, enough talk, on with the pictures.

There’s Something Wrong in Lakerland

Tie game, 30 seconds left on the clock and Kobe has the ball at the top of the key. Winding the shot clock down, two quick steps and the defender (nameless to save embarrassment) is on his heels. Pull up…BANG! Lakers up 2 over Sixers with 6 seconds to play.

That’s the good news. The bad news is the Lakers were shocked with a buzzer 3 pointer. Even worse is that they were up by double digits going into the 4th with Kobe well rested.

The Lakers were the clear favorites to win it all. Despite winning 16 of 20 since Bynum (a better version of Greg Oden) went down, the Lakers are simply not as focused as they were at the start of the season. Their intensity is gone. This looks like the 2008 Lakers + Ariza. That’s not to put down this team. They are better–further refining their mastery of the triangle. Plus having a full training camp with Pau to learn more. BUT you have to feel like they simply are not ready to win it all. Beat the Celtics? Doubt it. Beat the Cavs? Kobe and Lebron will cancel each other out. Depends on whose teammates show up.

I’m hoping that the Lakers are simply shutting it down to conserve energy for the playoffs. Give the bench some more playing time to sharpen up. Bynum returns in time to have a few weeks of regular season games. Is the zen master Phil orchestrating his magic?

Next week I’ll be at the Nets-Lakers game to get a closer look at the 2nd best record in the league. Stay tuned for pictures.

Determined to Beat the Winter Weather

My friend and I bought tickets to the NY Football Giants vs. Carolina Panthers a few months ago. At that time the Giants were rolling at 11-1 and were a lock to return to the Super Bowl. With 2 straight losses, the Big Blue’s offense has disappeared and the Panthers are now in position to take the lead of the NFL NFC. The game has been flexed scheduled from 1:15 to 8:15 pm (est) for Sunday Night Football. The forecast for that night is cloudy with a wintry mix. Highs in the low 30s and lows in the low 20s.

My initial plan — before knowing about the snow — was to layer up, but remain…what’s the opposite of less poofy? I want to stay mobile, but not be restricted by the bloat of looking like Stay Puft. Now that there’s a possibility of wintry mix so I might have to add in a poncho or something. Any other tips you can suggest? Oh, and I also have these hand/feet warmers. I’ve tested out my layer setup in 25-30° weather with Snow. I’ve found my weak spots are my hands and neck.

My Top 5 Onesies for Baby Jagger

With my little baby boy’s due date just a few months away, I thought I’d compile a top 5 list of my favorite onesies for him.

5.	While I’m jamming away on Rock Band, little Jagger can get in gear and cheer daddy on. Sweet!

3.	Me being the big New York Football Giants fan, it’s only natural for my little boy to match with me every Sunday afternoon.
