It is definately harder to find a "boy" show that is not too violent, but Lex absolutely LOVES a show called SUPER-WHY. it is on PBS channels. very educational (as u can see from how well he knows his letters & the sounds they make). and also LITTLE EINSTEINS on DISNEY (lots of musical learning)... disney movies are good, but tend to be too long until kids r usually at least 3 yrs old. i have about 20 baby einstein dvds. u guys r welcome to them, my kids never liked them. i, as a former teacher, was greatly disappointed by them too. i felt they really didnt teach enough, more hypnotysing (spelling???) or as my friend called them "baby crack" haha!
